MOLD REMEDIATION

When a mold problem is identified, it is critical to address it as safely and quickly as possible.

Mold and their spores are present virtually everywhere. They are a fungal growth that plays a vital role in our ecosystem because they are nature’s recyclers. They form and spread on various forms of damp or decaying organic matter and due to their digestive actions, they break down complex materials into simpler ones facilitating their reabsorption into the ecosystem. For this reason, mold is important and desirable in the outdoor natural environment. However, mold that grows indoors is undesirable mainly because we would likely try to keep fungi from recycling our homes – or ourselves! Mold is also of particular concern due to the harmful effects it can cause to your family’s health as well as damage it causes to your property.

Sufficient moisture and organic matter are all that is needed to create ideal conditions conducive to a mold growth. With enough moisture and time, organic matter found in building materials such as drywall and wood is all that is needed for a mold infestation.

When the problem is first identified, it is a priority to address it as safely and quickly as possible. Some mold species can spread throughout your home in just a few days, which may result in negative health effects. For this reason, when there is a mold problem it is critical to first stabilize indoor conditions, determine the water source of your mold problem and then address the cleanup and remediation process.
